The Open Water Network...
... aims at promoting Joint Research and Joint Education on Open Source software and Open Access data for Water Resources Management. Modelling tools have become important tools for water resources management but their use has been limited due to costly licenses and lack of data, especially in developing countries. Within the Open Water Network we aim at using emerging facilities and technologies for cloud computing to facilitate the use of global data and open source software for water resources applications.
The Network is open for every person interested in
Open Source Software and Open Data for Water
Resources Management. The Open Water Network is managed by the UNESCO CHAIR on
Open Water Science and Education of the VUB. Prof. Ann van Griensven is
chairholder, prof. Celray James Chawanda, prof. Elga Salvadore and Dr. Zainab Zomlot
are co-chairholders.
